Editor,

The AAPSU president election is on in full swing, with three candidates ultimately nominated: Byabang Hapo Dui, Debia Muj, and Meje Taku. Who will ultimately be elected?

Byabang Hapo Dui has secured support from a united front across five districts (Lower Subansiri, Kurung Kumey, Kra Daadi, Kamle, and Keyi Panyor). He possesses strong regional consolidation and public engagement, emphasising unity, peace, and progress, and is committed to building a future where peace guides action and progress determines outcomes.

Debia Muj, formally nominated by the APPDSU, has received support at the constituency level and participated in the ‘Know your leader’ events. Supporters portray him as a courageous fighter with outstanding advocacy, generosity, and a commitment to the student community.

Meje Taku, nominated by the AEKDSU, has gained significant momentum with support from student rallies (such as JNC, Arunachal Pradesh University, CBOS, DSUs in Pasighat), top student leaders, and early voting appeals. Many supporters describe him as a calm, knowledgeable, and visionary leader.

Regardless of who is ultimately elected, I hope they will strive to fulfill their commitments, focusing on education, infrastructure development, youth empowerment, and indigenous rights, bringing positive change to student politics in Arunachal Pradesh and leading AAPSU towards a brighter future.
