Editor,
I wish to express serious concern regarding the inordinate delay in the publication of the list of eligible candidates for the assistant professor interviews across various departments.
According to the commission’s annual calendar, the interviews were scheduled for April 2026. However, despite the commencement of the month, no official notification has been issued so far. Such delays not only undermine the credibility of the examination process but also place aspirants at a significant disadvantage.
Given the importance of these interviews, candidates require a minimum of one month for focused preparation after the declaration of eligibility. Moreover, due to the adoption of the UGC API-based criteria and the absence of assistant professor interviews since 2018, the number of aspirants has grown substantially. The prevailing uncertainty regarding eligibility is creating confusion and anxiety, and hindering effective preparation.
Therefore, I strongly urge the commission to act with urgency and transparency by releasing the list of eligible candidates at the earliest possible date.
Timely action in this regard will restore confidence among aspirants and uphold the integrity of the recruitment process.
