RONO HILLS, 1 Apr: Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) Vice-Chancellor (i/c) Prof SK Nayak launched the e-Office system at the smart theatre of the computer science and engineering department of the university here on Wednesday, marking a significant milestone in its journey towards digital transformation.

In his address, Prof Nayak emphasised that the e-Office system would significantly ease workflows and enhance efficiency across all levels of the university.

Speaking on the occasion, Controller of Examinations Bijay Raji highlighted the importance of the e-Office system in ensuring effective governance and moving towards a paperless administrative structure. He acknowledged that initial challenges may arise during the transition phase, but expressed confidence that the system would ultimately prove highly beneficial for the institution.

RGU Finance Officer Otem Padung in his remarks underscored the necessity of upgrading and adapting to emerging technologies in a rapidly evolving world. He noted that the implementation of the e-Office system would help optimise resources and ensure efficiency, thereby improving overall performance and output.

RGU Registrar Dr NT Rikam commended the Joint Director of RGU’s e-Office, Tsering D Megeji, for his pivotal role in spearheading the implementation of the e-Office system. He appealed to all employees to embrace the change with confidence, assuring them that the initiative is designed to simplify processes and enhance ease of work, rather than create difficulties.

In his address, Megeji emphasised that “the initiative represents a collective institutional effort, rather than just a technological upgrade”.

He described the transition from physical to digital system as a reflection of the university’s commitment to growth and adaptability.

He said that the initiative aligns with the central government’s e-governance frameworks, and stressed that the success of the system would depend on “the collective participation, skills, and mindset of all stakeholders.”

He encouraged everyone to view the transition not as a challenge but as an opportunity for growth and efficiency.
