TAWANG, 2 Apr: Tawang is preparing to host the upcoming deputy commissioners’ conference here from 8 to 12 April.

A review-cum-coordination meeting was held here in this regard on Thursday, involving all departments, the Indian Army, paramilitary forces, and PRI members.

Deputy Commissioner Namgyal Angmo, who chaired the meeting, said that preparations are underway for the conference, and emphasised the importance of coordinated efforts and active cooperation from all departments and stakeholders to ensure successful conduct of the event.

Stress was laid on maintaining environmental sustainability during all events, with a call to minimise the use of plastic across the district. Additionally, the DC directed that no construction materials should be left unattended in public areas, in order to ensure smooth traffic movement throughout Tawang.

A detailed review of progress was undertaken, with the DC seeking updates from all officers concerned regarding their assigned responsibilities. She urged the officials to complete tasks well in advance and avoid last-minute inconveniences.

Among those present at the meeting were ZPC Leki Gombu, ZPMs Tenzin Monpa and Sonam Norzin, SP Tasi Darang, Jang ADC Hakraso Kri, representatives from the Army, bazaar secretaries, and heads of offices. (DIPRO)
