MEGDONG, 2 May: The 1 Arunachal Pradesh Battalion of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) is conducting a combined annual training camp (CATC-05) at the JNV here in Kamle district from 1-10 May.

The 10-day camp marks a notable milestone as it is for the first time that the 1 AP Battalion NCC is organising a camp in this remote and far-flung location, under the guidance of 1 AP Battalion NCC Commanding Officer Col Samudra Vijay Sarma, to extend training opportunities to NCC cadets who are residing in distant and challenging areas and often face logistical and financial challenges in attending the camps conducted in more central locations.

The proactive initiative of bringing the camp closer to the schools in the area is aimed primarily to ensure wider participation and equal exposure and access to structured NCC training.

CATCs act as a platform to acquaint cadets with the disciplined lifestyle of the armed forces while instilling the values of leadership, camaraderie, and a spirit of nation-building. The training regime which has been planned for them will feature a comprehensive schedule, including drills, weapon training, firing, physical fitness activities, motivational lectures, and cultural activities.

This initiative is expected to strengthen grassroots-level engagement and inspire the cadets from remote regions to actively participate in and benefit from NCC training. It reinforces the commitment of the 1 AP Battalion NCC in ensuring that no cadet is left behind, and that every cadet feels included and valued. (DIPR)
