TEZU, Sep 6: Financial assistance of Rs 12, 000 was provided to Walenglu Mam, widow of former Gaon Bura of Pukhuri, late Thaisa Mam, under the Beena Ghose Roy Scheme.
Extra Assistant Commissioner Lui Shiba handed over the amount on behalf of the CO 20 Madras Col PR Pathrudu, while Lohit Deputy Director of School Education Mana Linggi and Maj MR Godara handed over solar home lights to Mam.
Additionally, in remembrance of Brig Ajai Prakash, Maj Godara handed over a cheque of Rs 25, 000 to Apyalu Mam on behalf of Col PR Pathrudu, commanding officer of the 20 Madras.
The financial assistance to support the education of girl child comes from Brig Sajeev Katarya, SM, commander and members of the Indian armed force.
