PASIGHAT, 15 Mar: Technical guidance on improved cultivation practices of buckwheat was provided to farmers from three villages in East Siang district during a programme at the College of Horticulture & Forestry (CHF) here in East Siang district on Monday.
The programme was funded by the All India Coordinated Research Network on Potential Crop.
CHF Dean Prof BN Hazarika highlighted the potentials of the “underutilized” minor cereal crops in the northeastern region.
Buckwheat seeds were also distributed among the farmers.
Thirty farmers from Jampani, Nhopok and Taki Lalung villages attended the programme.
