Micro-containment zones set up in Kharsang, labour camps sealed

CHANGLANG, 13 May: In view of the sudden spike in Covid-19 cases in and around Kharsang, Changlang DC Dr Devansh Yadav has issued an order declaring several micro-containment zones in the Kharsang area.

The order reads that no movement will be allowed in and out of the containment zones. “During the period of containment, strict perimeter control and closure of entry/exit is to be ensured by the police,” the order read.

The Miao ADC is to assign an officer in each containment zone to ensure implementation of the order, while the Miao MO is to ensure regular medial assessment of Covid-19 positive cases within the containment zones and monitor the high-risk contacts.

The BIPL/Arunachal Tea Company is to designate 3-5 persons with RAT negative certificates for procuring and supplying essentials inside the containment zones. “The Kharsang SDO is to approve the persons in each area and ensure strict compliance,” the order read.

Meanwhile, the DC has also ordered that all the labour camps along with their respective work sites in Changlang district are to be sealed with immediate effect.

“However, work at the sites will continue with following restrictions: The concerned contractor/manager to designate 5 labourers who can move in and out of the sealing area to procure/supply basic requirements, and those individuals are to get themselves tested once every week. The contractor/manager is to give an undertaking on the same,” the order read.

“No other labourer shall be allowed to move in and out of the scaled region, other than those designated above,” it said.

“The executing department’s staff visiting the sealed construction site shall strictly follow Covid appropriate behaviour, including Covid testing once in a week,” the order read. (DIPRO)
