NAHARLAGUN, Jan 13: “The Unique Disability ID (UDID) programme, initiated by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, would ensure that benefits reach every differently-able person in the country judiciously with implementation of social welfare schemes through the nodal department”, said UDID Implementing Manager, Sanjay Bamel.
He said this during the valedictory function of a two-day orientation training programme on ‘Unique ID for Persons with Disabilities’ at the Administrative Training Institute, here on Saturday.
Organized by the Social Justice & Empowerment and Tribal Affairs department in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, the training was attended by nodal officers and officials of the health and social welfare departments.
The UDID implementing manager further said that the project of ‘Unique ID for Persons with Disabilities’ will also help in streamlining the tracking of physical and financial progress of beneficiaries at all levels of hierarchy of implementation- from village, block, district, state and national levels.
Earlier, during the inaugural day of the programme on Friday last, the Secretary of Social Justice & Empowerment and Tribal Affairs (SJE&TA) advised the participants to make proper implementation of the project for the benefit of differently- able persons in the society, while Director of Social Justice & Empowerment and Tribal Affairs, Yumlam Kaha urged them to avail maximum advantage of the training.
Doctors, coordinators, DDs, CDPO (ICDS), data entry operators and other officials – from the Health Services, Women and Child Development and SJETA departments -representing all districts attended the training.
