Make transparent efforts to trace Tapor Pullom

The family members of Tapor Pullom, who is alleged to have been abducted by the Chinese PLA in 2015 from Shi-Yomi district, have threatened to launch a protest in Itanagar, alleging non-responsive attitude by the state and the central governments towards their plight. The family has been running from pillar to post, seeking to gather information about Pullom. He has not been located since 2015 and authorities, including the Indian Army, have not been of much help. Even though MP Tapir Gao recently raised this issue with the offices of the prime minister and the defence minister, so far the family claims that no official has come out to properly brief them on the exact situation.

The family has suffered a lot in the last few years. They deserve to know what has happened to Tapor Pullom. The government in the state as well as at the Centre should be sensitive towards their cause. If the allegation of the family that both central as well as state governments did not respond to their appeal is true, it is a matter of serious concern. An effort should be made to trace Pullom. The family cannot be left to fend for themselves. It is a sad plight to see them protesting in the street, seeking attention from the government.
