ITANAGAR, 26 May: A team of the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (APSCPCR), led by its Chairperson Gumri Ringu, met Chief Minister Pema Khandu in his office chamber at the secretariat here on Thursday and apprised him of the various activities carried out by the commission since its inception.
Ringu informed the CM about the issues concerning child rights in the state, the status and manner of operation of the functionaries, and the need for generating awareness. The commission had undertaken district tours from September 2021 to January 2022, she said.
She also highlighted the need for establishing schools for the differently-abled children in the Itanagar Capital Region.
The commission submitted recommendations and suggestions, “based on the issues and findings during the district tour,” to the chief minister.
The commission said that the CM assured to address its issues.
The APSCPCR team also included members Niri Chongrowju, Yaliung Tekseng, Ngurang Achung, Jumtum Minga, and Peace Moyong.
