BASAR, 25 Jun: Continuing his tour of Leparada district, MLA Gokar Basar inaugurated a community hall (dere) in Gakodapo village in Tirbin circle on Saturday.
On 22 June, Basar had inaugurated another community hall in Piri village in Sago circle.
Commending the villagers “for their contributions for successful completion of community hall under MLALAD funds,” Basar expressed hope that the “sanctity of the dere, which is used not just for holding community festivals but also government’s welfare activities like Sarkar Aapke Dwar, public hearings, etc, will be upheld.”
On 23 June, the MLA attended the International Olympic Day celebration organised by the Leparada District Olympic Association in Basar. At the initiative of the MLA, desks and benches were distributed to government schools in Nyigam, Basar, Bam, Sibe, Piri, Sago, Gori and Regi.
Meanwhile, a workshop on ‘livelihood and income augmentation of hospitality sector’ was conducted in Basar on 24 June as part of the ‘Nashe se azaadi pakhwada’ campaign which was launched by the MLA.
Resource persons and government officers, including Leparada DC Mamata Riba and SP PN Thongdok, spoke on the occasion. (DIPRO)
