ROING, 4 Aug: Fifty-nine players from various departments of Lower Dibang Valley district participated in the Inter-Department District Level Badminton Tournament, 2022, which concluded at the Ita Pulu indoor stadium here on Thursday.
Organised by the district administration headed by DC Soumya Saurabh, the tournament was held in men’s open singles, men’s open doubles, women’s open singles, women’s open doubles, mixed doubles, men’s 40+ singles, and men’s 40+ doubles categories.
In the men’s open singles category, Wugo Molo (forest department) beat Riko Mihu (higher education department), while in the women’s open singles, Biyanlu Kri Pulu (education) won against Enny Miuli (education).
In the men’s doubles, the winners were partners Wugo Molo and Pranko Miso (forest), and the runners-up were partners Open Melo and Dr Karpe Kaye (medical).
In the women’s doubles, partners Wushimi Mito and Ajiya Umpe (medical and education) beat partners Elapi Umpe and Enny Miuli (education).
In the men’s 40+ singles, Pranko Miso (forest) won against Angidi Linggi (education), while in the doubles of the same category, partners Dr Karpe Kaye and Aba Pulu (medical and higher education) won against partners Binya Poyom and Rajib Pulu (police and economic/statistics).
In the mixed doubles category, partners Open Melo and Elipe Linggi (medical and education) beat partners Talee Melo and Wushimi Mito (research and medical).
The prizes of the tournament will be distributed during the Independence Day celebration on 15 August.
