Even as the controversy over the leakage of question paper of the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission’s (APPSC) assistant engineer (civil) examination rages on, another job recruitment process has come under serious doubt. The land donors of the Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVK) in Kurung Kumey and Dibang Valley districts on Monday alleged that Agriculture & Horticulture Minister Tage Taki “interfered in the recently concluded recruitment for the posts of staffers in the two KVKs.” The land donors alleged that the minister favoured candidates from his assembly constituency.
Earlier, some of the candidates had also raised concern, alleging that those candidates were selected whose names did not figure in the original list of the candidates. The allegations levelled by the land donors are very serious in nature. They have alleged none other than the minister of agriculture of interfering in the recruitment for KVKs in Kurung Kumey and Dibang Valley. The recruitment for both KVKs was conducted by the agriculture department. This case cannot be overlooked. The state government should look into the matter urgently. The APPSC assistant engineer question paper leakage case has completely overshadowed this case. The civil society bodies, in particular the student organisation, should have a look at this case. If the allegation is true, this is also a classic case of nepotism and corruption. As there are so many allegations, the best option would be to reconduct the examination.
