KHONSA, Mar 17: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) of Tirap, Changlang and Longding under the aegis of Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority organized an awareness programme for the public, panchayat members, chiefs and GBs, departmental heads of various line departments to make them aware about various government welfare schemes and programmes and how to avail them at the Nehru Stadium here on Saturday.
Addressing the gathering, Tirap Deputy Commissioner P N Thungon said most of the public here are unaware of such welfare programmes and schemes and they often visit offices in search of contingency job and contract works, etc.
The DC hoped the public will now become aware of the various schemes under the PM and CM’s flagship programmes meant for them and avail it.
Taking the opportunity of the public gathering, Thungon appealed all to support the district administration and police in their endeavour to eradicate drugs and opium from the district.
District Food and Civil Supplies Officer (DF&CSO) M Miri informed them of the LPG connection provided under the PM’s Ujjwala scheme to every BPL family for which AADHAAR enrolment is required.
DSO (Statistics) Nokgen Wangsu informed the public how to enrol for Aadhaar and link Aadhaar number with bank account.
Representing the Agriculture Department, ADO Jania Sonia highlighted the CMKRY scheme and other agriculture related schemes.
DDSE Pubi Lombi, DDI Pongrem Arangham, ADTH Chanyok Rajkumari and Hope Foundation chairperson Komna Moidam also spoke on the occasion.
Earlier, Judicial Magistrate (First Class) and Secretary (DLSA) Domo Padu highlighted the aims and objectives of the awareness programme. (DIPRO)
