ITANAGAR, 20 Nov: The physics department of Dera Natung Govt College (DNGC) here, in collaboration with the Arunachal Pradesh Energy Development Agency (APEDA), organised a ‘Comprehensive one-day retailer training-cum-workshop programme’ on Monday, “adhering to the standards of the labelling programme by the union power ministry’s Bureau of Energy Efficiency,” the college informed in a release.
APEDA Deputy Director Asi Linggi, who inaugurated the programme, emphasised the significance of star labelling for electronic appliances. He spoke also on “the global commitment to achieve net-zero emissions by 2070,” underlining “the collective responsibility to create a sustainable and safer Earth for future generations.”
DNGC Principal Dr MQ Khan praised the APEDA for raising awareness among the students about energy conservation and efficiency, and underscored “the crucial role energy plays in our daily lives.”
IVENCO ESWA’s energy auditor Rana Pratap Poddar acquainted the participants with the standards and labelling protocols for electronic appliances, “emphasising the BEE star labelling and rating system,” the release said, adding that the programme also featured “three highly successful sessions, offering valuable insights from a consumer’s perspective.”
The programme also included a quiz competition. Thupen Eton, Minyir Ingo, and Chello Nimey won the first, second, and third prize, respectively.
Dr Hage Doley coordinated the programme, which was attended by nearly 100 students, besides faculty members of various departments of the college.
