TUTING, 2 Jan: A five-day ‘Siang Warriors Football Tournaments’ for men and women, organised by the Indian Army’s Spear Corps, concluded at the general ground here in Upper Siang district on 31 December.
In the women’s category, Godit Nyeying Football Club emerged triumphant, and in the men’s category, Tuting Town Football Club emerged the winner.
The winning men’s team received the trophy and a cash award of Rs 50,000, while the runner-up team received Rs, 20,000. In the women’s category, the winning team received Rs 10,000 and the runner-up team received Rs 5,000.
The teams in the women’s category that stood third and fourth were also given cash prize of Rs 3,000 each.
Ten football teams had participated in the tournament, which was organised as part of the Indian Army’s Operation Samaritan. (DIPRO)
