Editor,
I am writing to bring to your attention a matter of great concern that is adversely affecting the lives of the residents, students and professionals in the vicinity of the secretariat gate.
The source of this disturbance is an automatic speaker that incessantly plays the ‘It’s my Itanagar, it’s my Itanagar’ jingle at certain intervals throughout the day, till the evening.
The continuous playing of this track has become a major source of irritation and annoyance for the people in the area. The relentless repetition disrupts the focus of the students who use the nearby libraries for their studies, especially those preparing for forthcoming job exams, entrance exams, and other academic endeavours. Additionally, the constant noise is disturbing classes in nearby coaching centres, creating a hindrance to the learning environment.
The impact of this incessant noise is not limited to a small area; rather, it reaches the upper side of RWD Colony, affecting students who are residing in PG accommodations and hostels to study but are constantly disrupted due to this annoying track.
Since the garbage truck already plays this track in the morning while collecting wastes in the morning, it is nonsensical to install an automatic speaker near the secretariat gate and make it play the same track all day long. How can the authorities be such mindless brutes?
Subjecting the entire community to this repetitive and irritating noise throughout the day is totally insensible and nonsensical. If the municipal authorities want to listen to that track so much, why don’t they indulge in it within the confines of their homes?
I urge the municipal authorities, or whoever is responsible for installation of that speaker to consider the wellbeing of the community members, especially students and professionals who are working hard towards their goals, and immediately remove the speaker located near the secretariat gate. The need for a peaceful study and work environment is crucial for the prosperity of our society.
