Clarification against letter

Editor,
In reference to the letter titled ‘Call for transparency in faculty recruitment at
RGU’, published by The Arunachal Times on 28 September, and written by ‘A concerned Arunachalee (anonymous)’, we would like to enumerate the following points in clarification:
(i) The union education ministry, vide its letter F No 13- 40/2022-TC, dated 24th May 2023, has directed all central higher educational institutions to make all efforts to fill both faculty and non-faculty positions under mission mode recruitment initiative. This effort is being closely monitored at the higher level of government and aligns with the call of the prime minister of India.
(ii) As per the directives of the union education ministry, vide letter F No 35-3/2023-CU-I, dated 03.11.2023, the incumbent vice-chancellor is authorised to carry out all recruitment processes (teaching/non-teaching) during his extended tenure under the mission mode recruitment initiative for filling up of vacancies in the university.
(iii) The applications received for faculty positions are screened by a committee constituted by the university as per UGC norms, involving the department concerned and the dean of faculty, according to the latest UGC guidelines. Once the screening process is complete, the university publishes the list of eligible candidates for each post, categorised, on the university website well in advance of the interviews. The university invites any grievances from eligible candidates, which should be communicated to the designated email address. After addressing the grievances, the university publishes the final list of eligible candidates for each post (category-wise).
(iv) The university convenes meetings of selection committee for the recruitment of faculty positions in each category and selected candidates are informed via email after the approval of the statutory body of the university.
(v) The university ensures transparency in each and every step throughout the entire process in adherence with the prevailing UGC guidelines.
In light of the above, I request you to verify the facts and realities on the ground before publishing any article in your esteemed daily, that too from an anonymous source, which amounts to denigration of the image of the university and the state as a whole.
However, the university welcomes any suggestions in this regard from any quarter.
