Delay in declaration of APSSB CGL results

Editor,

Through the columns of your esteemed platform, I would like to express the deep concern and growing frustration among hundreds of aspirants regarding the delayed declaration of the APSSB combined graduate level (CGL) examination results. It has been more than two weeks since the results were held up due to a court case, and there seems to be no clarity or urgency in resolving the matter.

This is not the first time such a delay has occurred. A similar situation happened with the CGL 2022 exam, where results were eventually released in 2024, causing unnecessary anxiety and wasting valuable years of preparation. Aspirants have worked diligently and devoted years to prepare for this one opportunity, especially in a state like ours, where unemployment remains critically high.

What is disheartening is the recurring pattern of legal hurdles over issues that have already been dealt with in previous cases. The reservation for DC office categories, for example, has been a longstanding and accepted scheme, even implemented during CGL 2021. It has proven beneficial in uplifting candidates from underrepresented districts like Tirap, Longding, and Changlang (TLC) regions. Most aspirants understand and support this framework.

It is unfortunate that while the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB) has shown diligence in conducting examinations, legal actions are initiated where none is needed, and inaction persists where real issues exist. This not only reflects misuse of the judicial process but also leads to the violation of the fundamental rights of the deserving candidates.

Moreover, if reports are to be believed, the petitioner in the current case is not even an aspirant. If he had appeared for the exam and felt wronged, the matter might have held some merit. But when individuals misuse the judiciary for personal or political gain, it jeopardizes the future of countless others.

We, the aspirants, appeal to both the judiciary and the parties involved to resolve the matter expeditiously and fairly, so that the results can be released without further delay. We have walked a long, dark tunnel of uncertainty and await the dawn of hope and opportunity.

An aspirant,
