Dear Editor,
A trend already exists where youths of Arunachal do not know how to speak their mother tongues.
Some understands it but are unable to communicate.
The problem is modernization, inter-tribe marriage, and boarding schools.
Some youths are very eager to learn their languages but lack of opportunity and time have forced them to be still and we can’t blame our parents for this fate.
But lets take this in a possible positive way. Start coaching classes for languages, learn local songs and folktales, and teach traditions, rituals and customary laws. This may generate employment for some people and also help us preserve our languages too.
Yours,
Loba, NERIST
