TEZU, Oct 30: The small savings department observed World Thrift Day in a function held here on Tuesday.
The department’s field publicity officer (FPO) Jotho Yun informed the gathering about the salient features of various small savings products, and advised them to take advantage of the services offered by the post office, saying “the schemes are structured to cater to the needs of different sections of society, especially the small investors.”
He advised the people to put their hard-earned money in small savings schemes and take part in the state-building process, “because 100% of net collections under small savings are returned to the state of Arunachal Pradesh by the union finance ministry as long-term soft loans for investment in development of state infrastructure.”
The FPO advised the extension agents to be aware of the latest rules and regulations of small savings schemes in order to improve their efficiency.
