BOMDILA, Feb 16: Sixty-five major ongoing schemes in West Kameng district were reviewed during a district level monitoring committee meeting held here on Saturday.
Reiterating the need to adhere to the norms, Deputy Commissioner Sonal Swaroop said that “under no circumstances specified locations of schemes under BADP should be altered or changed by the executing departments.”
The DC also impressed upon the departments the need for regular monitoring of the projects to ensure quality control.
Some of the departmental engineers questioned the parameters adopted by the monitoring teams in assessing the quality of work, and demanded that additional allocations be made for yearly maintenance of projects executed with one-time grants.
When instances of violation of norms by some departments came to light, the DC directed the departments to ensure strict compliance with the norms.
The DC also directed the departments concerned to maintain all the 157 polling stations in the district for the forthcoming elections in line with the assured minimum facilities’ guidelines by providing potable drinking water, electricity, ramp, waiting shed, and such. (DIPRO)
