KOLORIANG, Aug 13: Home Minister Bamang Felix inaugurated the Mukhya Mantri Rogi Kalyan Kosh (MMRKK) at the Chera Talo district hospital here in Kurung Kumey district on Tuesday.
Addressing the inaugural function, which was attended by, among others, local MLA Lokam Tassar, DC Santosh Kumar Rai and SP Rajiv Ranjhan, Felix asked the hospital staff to “maintain a hospitable environment, show love and respect to patients, and provide medicines free of cost to the poor,” saying the main purpose of the scheme is to provide free medicines to all.
The minister also inaugurated the one-stop centre at the DC office, which will issue ST, PR, birth and income certificates, besides ration cards, LPG connections, pension schemes, the Dulari Kanya scheme, etc, under one umbrella.
The inauguration was followed by a meeting of the district development committee, during which Tassar asked the HoDs to “give emphasis to agriculture and allied sectors to engage and motivate youths and villagers to take up the profession to become self-sufficient.”
Felix on his part instructed the HoDs to “go through the budget allocation for each department and ask the DPO to form a planning committee in every administrative circle for better planning and development of the district.”
Directing the HoDs to prepare “Vision 2022 documents for the district,” Felix said the documents would be reviewed in December.
The minister later awarded laptops, mobile phones, cash awards and mementoes to the meritorious students of the government higher secondary school here.
Felix urged the students to “work hard and have target-oriented goals,” and to respect their teachers, saying the teachers’ guidance would help them achieve great heights in the future. (DIPRO)
