I-Day: security beefed up in state

ITANAGAR, Aug 13: Security measures have been beefed up in Arunachal Pradesh in the run-up to Independence Day, police said on Tuesday.
More security personnel have been deployed in Itanagar and checking and frisking of vehicles has been intensified, Capital SP Tumme Amo said.
Night patrolling is being conducted in all the vulnerable places to thwart any untoward incident.
Verification of the inner line permits (ILP) has been increased at all check gates of the state, while hotels in the capital are being checked as a preventive measure, Amo said.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu will unfurl the national flag at IG Park here, the main venue of the Independence Day celebration. (PTI)
