TAWANG, Feb 28: Charge officers and technical assistants of Tawang district are participating in a two-day training programme on house-listing, housing census and updation of the National Population Register, which began here on Friday.
The training is being imparted by General Census Deputy Registrar Bharati Chanda and Statistical Inspector Mridul Das.
Addressing the inaugural function, Tawang DC (in-charge) Lobsang Tsering asked the participants to take the training seriously “because census works are not that easy as it seems (and) on many occasions people do not cooperate, but we have to do our duty sincerely.”
Chanda informed that the census exercise this time “will be one of the largest administrative exercises – even larger than general elections.” (DIPRO)
