Teaching community is considered to be the backbone of the society. They are the one who shape the future of the state and country. But when teacher itself struggles to survive how we can expect them to work dedicatedly. It is a well known fact that teachers working under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan(SSA) and Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan(RMSA) are not paid their salaries regularly. This has made life miserable for them. Often they have to resort to protest and dharna to fight for their hard earned salaries.
Currently the teachers working under RMSA are once agitating seeking early release of their pending salaries. It is reported that RMSA teachers have not been paid their salaries for the last five month. Situation is not very different for the teachers working under SSA. Successive governments in Arunachal have made false promise to the SSA teachers to pay salary on time. If teachers struggle to make end, how will they serve the society. It will be unfair on the part of government to expect SSA and RMSA teachers to serve with dedication. Government need to find out where things are going wrong? Why they are not able to pay these teachers on regular basis? Proper mechanism should be developed to ensure that salaries are paid on time.
