ITANAGAR, Sep 26: The Arunachal Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan Teachers’ Association (ARMSATA) has called off its indefinite pen down strike after a meeting with the higher authorities of the Education Department.
The CEC of ARMSATA on Tuesday held a joint meeting with Secretary Education Bidol Tayeng, Director of School Education Gania Leij, State Project Officer (RMSA) Tumngam Loyi, wherein the Association was assured by the officials of the Education Department that the pending six months’ salary (April-September) of the teachers under RMSA will be released within the first week of October, informed ARMSATA President Taba Billow, in a release.
The meeting was also attended by the ATA President and General Secretary.
However, ARMSATA said it would re-launch vigorous democratic movement in the event of any failure from the side of the Education Department to keep its assurance, the release added.
The teachers under RMSA were on an indefinite pen down strike since September 14 in protest against non-release of their pending salaries.
