Education and India

Dear Editor,
Apropos your editorial, “Education and India” (September 28, 2017), the World Bank’s Report on primary education in India is really alarming. Any structure needs solid foundation without which it cannot last long. Primary education, health infrastructure and nutrition are the very basic things that can never be ignored. A country means its people and not just a piece of land. How can Bharat Mata be happy if we fail her children? How can Bharat Mata be strong if we cannot give our children education and nutrition?
Yours,
Sujit De,
