ITANAGAR, Sep 6: A month-long skill development training for employment generation under BADP for unemployed youth and artisans of Tirap district commenced at State Forest Research Institute, Itanagar, Department of Environment & Forests.
Supported by Tirap District Administration the training programme is being organized in collaboration with Poma Bamboo Processing Centre, Poma village.
Director, SFRI & CCF N Tam, who inaugurated the training programme, said imparting employability skill to the youths and setting up of small scale industries for employment generation in various sectors remain the government’s priority agenda.
Stating that getting a job in government department is not possible for every educated youth, he asked the trainees to be more dedicated and start enterprise activities for self employment and income generation.
Nani Sha, DFO Silviculture also asked all the trainees to be more serious in the field and give feedback after completion of the training programme for any improvement at government level.
Scientist & Training Coordinator RK Taj remarked that skill development is the key to self employment.
The month long training will cover all natural resource based income generation activities particularly cane, bamboo and broom making on sustainable approach, he informed.
