Letter to the Chief Minister

Dear Editor,
This is regarding Director Health Services No.Mest-2006/162 dated 02/11/2016 calling for application from the medical officers serving in Arunachal Pradesh Health Service(APHS)with post-graduation degree “to apply for the post of Junior consultant” in Government of Arunachal Pradesh and Directorate of medical education training and research No.DME,T&R/P&D/2/2015 dated 20/09/2017 calling for application only amongst doctors serving in Arunachal Pradesh Health Service(APHS) to apply for the post of Assistant Professor/senior resident/junior resident/demonstrators in the TRIHMS.
We would like to ask why is government of Arunachal Pradesh hell-bent on giving all the opportunities to doctors who are already in APHS? Giving jobs only to people who already have a government job. Why aren’t the vacancies made open for competitive entrance?
Medical council of India (MCI) clearly mentions the criteria for selection of faculty members (8 June 2017,Gazette of India), then why such inapposite selection procedure of taking the teaching staff in TRIHMS only from APHS cadre, barring a larger pool of eligible candidates even from applying for the posts. It will make it impossible to get recognition from the MCI and threaten the future of the fifty MBBS students who will be admitted every year. Instead best of eligible faculty members should be selected through proper selection procedure, so that our state can produce better medical professionals.
So I would request our honourable chief minister and the concerned authorities to amend the selection procedure so that best candidates’ gets the job and everyone gets a chance to make a better medical fraternity in Arunachal.
Yours,
Aggrieved non-APHS doctors
