ITANAGAR, Oct 26: Bogum Jumi Teli of IMC distributed tools and leverages to NGOs/SHGs selected for door to door collection of Municipal wastes in all the 30 wards of Itanagar Municipal Council.
She appealed to all the citizens of the Capital Complex to cooperate with the staff and NGOs/SHGs engaged in door to door collection of solid waste. She also informed that, sanitation vehicles for all the 30 wards have been deployed for smooth collection of garbage during morning hours.
Handing over challan copies to NGOs/SHGs, she said that the defaulter citizen/household would be fined up to Rs 5,000 for throwing garbage at wrong time and also added that services of non- performing NGOs/SHGs would be terminated.
IMC had earlier outsourced all the Wards of the IMC to local NGOs/SHGs through ‘Request For Proposal’ in the month of August 2017 to encourage more public participation in Solid Waste Management to make Itanagar one of the cleanest cities in the country.
Municipal Executive Engineer, Tadar Tarang and Assistant Engineer Baba Bagang were also present during the event.
