ITANAGAR, Oct 29: The second and October-2017 issue of ‘Popiriscope,’ the cultural journal of the Apatani community, was released by Puna Hinda, Managing Director of M/S Puna Hinda here on Saturday.
Senior members and intellectuals of the Apatani community were present on the occasion.
Chief Editor cum Literary Secretary of the Popi Sarmin Society (PSS) Gyati informed that through this journal, the PSS aims to document every cultural aspect (both tangible and intangible) of the Apatani community, which would later serve as reference documents for future generations and to promote young writers, he said.
He also gave a PowerPoint presentation on the modified roman script presented by the PSS on 6 February, 2016 at a symposium conducted by the Tanü Supuñ Dukuñ at the Abotani Hall in Hapoli.
Hinda, who will sponsor four issues of the Journal, appreciated PSS for publishing the cultural journal and assured to help in its noble venture towards the service of the Apatani society in the field of arts, culture and literature.
PSS Chief Adviser, Professor Pura Tado suggested the PSS to continue the literary works without being distracted by other ‘negative’ elements.
Dr Hage Tabyo also assured his support to PSS in its future endeavors.
