Reform agenda

One of the most conservative Kingdoms of world Saudi Arabia is witnessing riveting political change in the last few years. Ever since Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman rose to prominence the desert kingdom is experience roller-coaster emotion. After being ruled by older king for years, the young Saudi sees 32 year old youthful crown prince as agent of change for better future. Mohammed bin Salman has made several moves to woo new generation Saudi citizens. The decision to allow women to drive vehicle and allow their entry into sports stadium has made him quite popular among youth.
Few years ago these things were unthinkable for the conservative Saudi society. The Crown prince is also making effort to end reliance on oil economy and has promised to open up Saudi society to create healthy atmosphere in order to attract investment in other field. The young prince deserves appreciation for making efforts to take Saudi society away from extreme conservative views. One of the main reasons for growing Islamic radicalization is believed to be spread of Wahhabism ideology which originates from Saudi Arabia. Wahhabism has been accused of being “a source of global terrorism”, inspiring the ideology of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), and for causing disunity in Muslim communities by labelling Muslims who disagreed with the Wahhabi definition of monotheism as apostates (takfir) and justifying their killing. The whole world will be hoping that Crown Prince continues his reform agenda. This will greatly help to open up Saudi society and contribute towards better integration with rest of the world.
