FDC of drugs for TB treatment launched in Aalo

AALO, Nov 10: Deputy Commissioner Swetika Sachan launched the Fixed Dose Combination (FDC) Daily Regimen for tuberculosis (TB) treatment at District TB Centre, Aalo on November 9.
District TB Officer Dr. Karmar Dirchi, Medical Superintendent Dr. Linya Lollen and Principal of Nursing School, Aalo were present on the occasion.
The new daily drugs regimen to treat TB patients was launched at the Tuberculosis Hospital, Pasighat by the Additional Commissioner Tatdo Borang.
Borang said the government is committed to provide affordable and quality healthcare but keeping TB at bay is everyone’s responsibility and every TB patient should be able to access treatment without fear of stigma or unwarranted retrenchment.
DTO (TB) Dr. Y Perme highlighted the several notable steps taken by the department in case finding, formulating standards of care, implementation of RNTCP, surveillance tools and counseling for TB patients, etc.
Free medicines were distributed to the patients.
