NAHARLAGUN, Dec 2: The second-quarter zonal review of Tawang, West Kameng, East Kameng, Papum Pare, Lower Subansiri, East Siang and Lower Siang districts was held at the Directorate of Health Services here on Saturday to review their performance under the National Health Mission (NHM).
This was the third zonal review meeting organized by the State Health Society, NHM.
Family Welfare Director, Kabang Lego, expressed hope that the zonal review would better facilitate the districts in proving the health indicators and also provide participating districts with firsthand experience of the activities underway in the district.
PowerPoint presentations were made by the participating districts to review the performance of their second-quarter activities.
Reviewing the performance of the districts, Special Secretary and NHM Mission Director, Dr Tapasya Raghav, said that the health indicators in all the districts should improve from the levels of the NFHS 4 data.
She emphasized on functionalization of sub-centres, rational deployment of human resource to overcome workload, providing incentives to encourage ASHAs, planning RBSK activities with the Annual Health Visit Plan, and covering all schools and Anganwadi centres twice a year.
On the second day, field visits were made to the Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences in Naharlagun, SC Nirjuli, DVS Yupia, and urban slum areas.
NHM Nodal Officer, Dr Dimong Padung also gave a brief presentation on the second round of IMI, besides a short presentation on the upcoming Measles – Rubella Vaccination Campaign.
Director of Health Services, Dr Moromor Lego, requested the DMO and the DRCHO of Yupia and the CMSTRIMS to work on the grey areas pointed out by the district teams, progress of which would be reviewed in the third-quarter review meeting.
Earlier, the review for the central zone districts – Upper Subansiri, Lower Subansiri, West Siang, Siang, Upper Siang, Kurung Kumey and Kra Daadi – was held at Daporijo on November 28 and 29 in the same format.
