ITANAGAR, Jan 6: Governor Dr BD Mishra on Saturday reviewed the preparedness for the forthcoming cleanliness drive themed ‘Hamara Elan Swachhta aur Nari Utthan,’ in a meeting at the Raj Bhavan here.
The governor appealed to the residents of Itanagar to participate in the cleanliness drive with renewed determination and enthusiasm. He emphasized the need for involving everyone for the success of the programme.
Raj Bhavan is proposing to launch the mass cleanliness drive from 8 January.
“Every individual has an important role to play to bring change in the mindset of the people; and change must begin from each home,” the governor said.
He suggested to the councillors to mobilize local residents to be the part of it.
The first day of the cleanliness drive will cover the area from Ziro Point Tinali to the Nyokum festival ground. The cleanness drive will start at 9.30 am. (PRO to Raj Bhavan)
