Dear Editor,
In response to a news article titled “Murung festival facing extinction” published in this daily on 12th Jan 2018, by noted journalist Taro Chatung. As a reader, it gives me immense pleasure to read his reportage, as it always surface with objectivity and eloquence. His article is not only a wake-up call for the natives of Apatani plateau, but it is also implicitly reminding each one of us (the entire indigenous people of Arunachal) about the impending tempest of cultural extinction.
It is high time for the youths to introspect and volunteer oneself in selflessly preserving and carrying forward the cultural legacy of our ancestors, before it is too late.
