ITANAGAR, Jan 31: The public of Gelling, Singa, Palleng and Meging have appealed to the state government to post regular circle officer and medical officer for the circles of the district.
They said that due to unavailability of a CO as well as supporting staff, the administrative and other official work of the local people is delayed and badly hampered.
Locals alleged that the office buildings as well as government quarters remain closed mostly due to unavailability of government staffs posted in remote and far flung areas, which are also highly sensitive areas.
When contacted, Upper Siang DC Duly Kamduk confirmed the scarcity of a circle officer in the district. With regard to absence of medical officer in these circles, Kamduk said that these circle have medical sub-centres where ANMs are taking care of medical activities as per the norms.
A doctor is available at Tuting which is the subdivision of the district, Kamduk said.
Former Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Gegong Apang has also asked the state government to take cognizance of the problem and take steps to make life better for the people of the area.
Apang said that posting of circle officers, medical officers, engineers and other government staffers is essential in order to maintain the administrative posts.
He further appealed to the state government to post sufficient staff and officers in various circles of the district.
