TAWANG, Feb 3: Local MLA Tsering Tashi and Tawang DC Sang Phuntsok flagged off the Tawang-Chaksam bus service of the Arunachal Pradesh State Transport Services in a function here on Saturday.
The introduction of the 22-seater bus, which will ply daily between the two destinations, fulfills the longstanding demand of the people of Kharseneng. It is also a step in developing tourism in the area, considering the historical and religious importance of the famous Chaksam bridge – the iron chain bridge built in 1430 by Maha Siddha Thang Tong Gyalpo.
The MLA urged the staff of the Transport department to serve with dedication in order to provide quality service and ensure proper upkeep of the bus.
Among others, the station superintendent, HoDs, and public leaders attended the function. (DIPRO)
