Donggin celebrated with traditional gaiety

AALO, Feb 3: Members of the Adi (Bori) tribe residing here in West Siang district celebrated Donggin festival with traditional fervour and gaiety at Gumin Kiin on Friday.
Greeting the people on the occasion, PHED Chief Engineer Tagom Ketan said, “Our age-old culture has traversed a long way to give us a distinct identity, and it is important to preserve and promote it at any cost.”
He exhorted the officers and youths of the area to work for its development.
Celebration committee president Takot Pangu, secretary Tashi Jorang, and Dr Taking Paser spoke about the significance and mythological aspects of Donggin festival.
Miss Arunachal 2017, Osing Mosu, was felicitated on the occasion, and prizes were distributed to the winners of the Takon Jorang memorial badminton tournament and the Tabang Pangu memorial volleyball tournament.
Traditional dance, based on folklores, were also presented. (DIPRO)
