PASIGHAT, Feb 9: The East Siang district unit of the Students’ United Movement of All Arunachal (SUMAA-ESD) expressed resentment over the administration’s failure to meet the demands the union had earlier placed for strict checking of inner-line permits (ILP) and installation of security cameras at check gates.
A team of the SUMAA on Friday met Deputy Commissioner Tamiyo Tatak and submitted a three-point memorandum reiterating the demands and also calling for installation of security cameras at vital areas in Pasighat town and at all entry and exit points.
‘It would have been undoubtedly helpful for the police in apprehending criminals had there been CCTV cameras installed,’ they said, adding that even the murderer of bank cashier Bomge Nyori could have been traced following CCTV footage.
The SUMAA team also discussed issues related to the smart city project, and sought cooperation from the people for early realization of the dream project.
Mebo MLA Lombo Tayeng was also present during the meeting.
