ITANAGAR, Feb 13: Traffic has been allowed to ply on NH-415 from both Itanagar and Naharlagun ends between 7 am and 8 pm.
The latest traffic arrangement in the capital complex has been made in view of the increasing traffic jams causing great inconvenience to motorists, District Magistrate Prince Dhawan said in an order issued on Tuesday.
However, traffic may be diverted through the Jully road temporarily, in case there is congestion of traffic due to the ongoing highway work, till vehicular movement on the highway improves.
The highway from Itanagar to Naharlagun will remain closed for traffic between 8 pm to 7 am till 31 March.
Earlier, an order was issued restricting vehicular movement on NH-415 from Naharlagun to Itanagar to facilitate early completion of the four-laning work from Chandranagar to Papu Nallah.
Meanwhile, the capital complex administration has made arrangements to regulate vehicular movement in view of the prime minister’s proposed visit to the state capital on 15 February.
As per the arrangement, movement and parking of vehicles have been restricted on the route from Raj Bhawan to IG Park from 10.10 am to 10.40 am, and also between 11.10 am to 11.40 am on that day for smooth passage of the VVIP carcade.
Vehicles coming from Naharlagun towards Itanagar will be diverted at the Pappu Nallah-Jully tri-junction from 9 am to 11.30 am towards Jully-Ganga, Itanagar.
Likewise, vehicles coming from Chandranagar towards Naharlagun will be diverted towards the Jully-Ganga road, Itanagar at Ganga Jully tri-junction between 10 am to 11.40 am.
Motorists are advised to avoid the roads leading to the Raj Bhavan helipad, the Raj Bhavan tri-junction, Mithun Gate, Zero Point, Bank Tinali, and the Niti Vihar Gate of IG Park between 10 am to 11.40 am on that day to avoid inconvenience. (DIPRO)
