ITANAGAR, Feb 16: The final audition for the ‘Officers and Officials Idol’ competition ended today with the selection of 10 participants in each category.
The 20 participants will face each other in the grand finale at IG Park on 18 February, which will also be the curtain raiser to the 32nd Statehood Day celebration.
Art & Culture Minister Mohesh Chai lauded the capital complex district administration for the initiative, and expressed hope that more such programmes would be organised in various fields “as different individuals have different potentials.”
He also appreciated that this time the Festival of Arunachal is promoting local talents, as all the winners of the O&O Idol would get the opportunity to present the opening performance of the three-day celebration.
Special Secretary to CM, Himanshu Gupta said “such events give an opportunity to government servants to groom their talents,” and lauded the capital complex district administration for its effort to bring together government servants based in various districts together on a single platform.
Fifty participants from various districts participated, and the audition was judged by renowned artists Taba Yall Nabum, Jomnya Siram and Tsangpa Norbu.
