SEPPA, Mar 23: Meyuk Cheda has been elected unopposed as the new zilla parishad chairperson (ZPC) of East Kameng district.
The oath-taking ceremony was held at the Panchayat office here on Friday. The oath was administered by East Kameng Deputy Commissioner Gaurav Singh Rajawat.
Hailing from Cheda village under Pipu circle, Cheda was elected as ZPM from the Pipu anchal samiti in the 2013 panchayat election.
The new ZPC expressed gratitude to fellow panchayat members and the people for reposing faith in her and electing her unopposed.
She promised to work and cooperate with the district administration for all-round development of the people and the district. (DIPRO)
