KOLORIANG, May 24: Governor BD Mishra advised the government officials in Kurung Kumey district to endeavour to work towards bringing “composite multipronged development” and ensure that the benefits of government-sponsored schemes reach the last man in the queue.
He was addressing government officials here during his visit to the district on Wednesday.
Saying there is always scope for improvement and making extra effort, Mishra advised the officials to reach out to the people, learn about the challenges faced by them, and address the problems.
The governor advised the officials to introduce new crops, encourage the farmers to use cash crops, and motivate the agrarian community towards entrepreneurship and e-marketing.
He also asked them to assist the farmers in forming farmers’ organisations “to mitigate the challenge of middlemen.”
Mishra urged the officials to create awareness among the people that infrastructure such as roads and airports “are for them and they should cooperate.” He also asked the officials to check corruption, plug fund leakages, and complete projects on time.
The governor emphasized on availability of textbooks for school students and provision of more LED bulbs. He also spoke on the Dulari Kanya Yojana and the Jan Aushadhi Yojana, and highlighted the importance road and IT communication.
During the interaction, the officers briefed the governor on the schemes and projects being implemented in the district. (PRO)
