ITANAGAR, May 25: The administrative reforms (AR) department here on Friday held its first morning attendance meeting (MAM), in view of the state government’s directive in this regard.
The state government had on 17 May issued a directive to all heads of departments, heads of offices, deputy commissioners, principals, and headmasters, to conduct MAMs every Monday and Friday in order to improve punctuality, discipline, and work culture in government offices and institutions.
Copies of reports on the MAMs will have to be submitted to the chief secretary and the AR department for evaluation.
The state government has constituted ‘squads’ to check attendance in government establishments in the capital complex as well as the districts. The squads will carry out surprise inspection of offices, and report latecomers and absentees to the HoDs concerned.
The HoDs are to report habitual latecomers to the chief secretary, who will take action as per the guidelines on the subject.
