TAWANG, Jun 11: BLOs, AEROs and supervisors of Tawang district participated in a training programme on ‘special summary revision on photo electoral rolls of intensive nature’ held at the deputy commissioner’s office here on Monday.
EAC (Election) Lobsang Tsetan spoke on identification of critical gaps in the electoral roll and strategies to resolve them; deletion of repeated entries and dead electors’ entries; identification of un-enrolled eligible citizens (eligible on 1/1/2018) and prospective voters (eligible on 1/1/2019) through house-to-house verification; and rationalization of polling stations.
Reiterating the importance of an error-free electoral roll for free and fair conduct of elections, the EAC requested all concerned to work with dedication. (DIPRO)
