Assn seeks cancellation of non-APST appointments

ITANAGAR, Jun 11: The All Arunachal Pradesh Unemployed Youth Association in a representation to the power commissioner on Monday demanded cancellation of alleged illegal appointment of non-APST casual labourers in the Namsai electrical division.
The association claimed that the newly-posted Namsai power division EE (E) recommended eight non-APST candidates to the superintending engineer (EW) of Electric Circle No 7, Tezu, for appointment of casual labourers.
“On getting the recommendations of the EE (E) power Namsai division, the superintending engineer has appointed eight non-APST persons as labourers,” it said, adding that the move has deprived unemployed APST youths whose applications for appointment as casual labourers are still pending with the Namsai electrical division EE.
It also sought cancellation of the transfer order issued to the Namsai electrical division EE.
The union threatened to resort to democratic action if its demands are not met within a week.
