KVK celebrates Krishi Kalyan Abhiyan

NAMSAI, Jun 13: The KVK Namsai, along with agriculture and allied departments and active participation of the district administration is celebrating Krishi Kalyan Abhiyan (KKA) under the banner of the Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan here.
The celebration which started on 1 June will continue till 31 July.
The programme is being observed in all the 115 aspirational districts of the country, including in Namsai. These districts have been identified by the NITI Aayog based on the line data available in important sectors, like health, education, nutrition, agriculture, financial inclusion and basic infrastructure, with an aim to develop these districts in certain identified key performance indicators.
The primary objective of KKA celebrations is to boost agriculture in selected villages of the district by implementing specified actions, like soil testing, distribution of mini kits of pulses and oil seeds, horticulture/agro forestry plants, agricultural implements, making NADAP pits, 100 percent bovine and goat for PPR vaccinations, artificial insemination in village cattle, special training on bee keeping, mushroom cultivation and kitchen garden and other related activities.
Namsai district has 15 villages identified by the KVK and other agricultural allied departments under the guidance of the deputy commissioner for proper execution of these activities.
Subsequently, action plan has been prepared and various activities are being conducted by the departments collaboratively. A series of training will be imparted in these 15 selected villages by KVK Namsai, apart from a three-day training at the KVK premises.
